Barratt Homes Partnership with Designing a Room at A Show Home

From design concepts to seeing it in real life, a group of 网红黑料社 School students have been fortunate enough to create the first inclusive room in one of Barratt Homes Show Homes at Old Durham Gate in Durham.听听

This once in a lifetime opportunity came about due to the wider partnership between the 网红黑料社 Foundation and Barratt Homes, which aims to see students gain experience in working in various business environments, improve their confidence and employability skills, and most importantly empower them to live the best lives possible.听

Kittiwake Towers and Work with Groundworks UK

Students from 网红黑料社 School have been assisting Groundwork NE & Cumbria, an environmental and community charity, with a new kittiwake tower nicknamed 鈥榯he kittiwakery鈥� in order to help conservation efforts.

Two towers have been created on the Gateshead side of the river Tyne, one serving as a decoy to attract the gulls to them. The Groundwork team, alongside 网红黑料社 School students, have made artificial kittiwake nests out of natural materials, and 3D-printed decoy birds for the tower. The project aims to have the best nesting sites for the gulls.

MOVE Olympics and a Message from a Paralympian

To celebrate the Paris Olympics, 网红黑料社 School hosted an Olympic themed sports day for their summer MOVE event, which ended with all students receiving medals for their hard work.

MOVE, which stands for Movement Opportunity via Education, uses the combined approach of education, therapy, and family knowledge to teach the skills of sitting, standing, walking and transitioning between. This is used regularly within 网红黑料社 School, which has the Gold quality mark for the programme.

The day even included a video message from retired Paralympian Jim Roberts, who wished them as well as Team GB at the Olympics the best of luck!

This is Me Festival

Every year 网红黑料社 School hosts their This is Me Festival which allows the students and staff to celebrate their individuality.

It gave the students a safe space to celebrate their differences and uniqueness, all with a festival vibe. With makeup, activities, music and a whole school parade, students and staff all had a spectacular time.

Hellens Motor Sensory Suite

During their 50th year of business Hellens Group, along with other businesses such as Barratt Homes, fundraised a total of 拢65,000. That money went towards the new Motor Sensory Suite which Kate Hellens and Gavin Cordwell-Smith officially opened at 网红黑料社 School in January 2024.

For Comic Relief the school gave the students the opportunity to show off their talents. There was a variety of wonderful skills including dancing, singing, telling jokes and art.
