Family Information and FOPHS News Friday 13th December 2024
What a wonderful week we have had at School? Busy, but fantastic. Remember, school closes next Friday 20th December and re-opens on Tuesday 7th January 2025.
We had a huge turnout for the LSTE Christmas Sensory Assembly on Monday. Feedback was positive. You appreciated sitting with your children and seeing them react and interact. You enjoyed conversations with staff and other parents. I have mentioned these assemblies before; they change each half term and I always watch one.
Then on Wednesday/Thursday we had MOVEing in a winter wonderland, which never fails to impress. We have an incredibly creative MOVE team. FoPHS continues to support these events.
On Thursday all students had the opportunity to visit Santa’s Grotto and receive a gift, provided by FoPHS. I had a wonderful day on Tuesday with some parents who came to transform Strachan’s Den into a grotto. As I am lacking in creative talent, this made life much easier and it’s always good to meet parents too. Thanks to those who offer help. I know how busy life can be when you have a child with additional needs, and I appreciate all you do to support school.
Here are some photos of the team and the grotto:
Santa and the elf had a great day meeting all the students.
Free School Meal holiday vouchers.
A letter has been emailed to eligible families from North Tyneside regarding the holiday voucher for £30 which is being sent to you by email on Monday 16th December. This will come from Edenred, so please look out for it. I have also attached the details on how to redeem.
I want to draw your attention to the notice from North Tyneside that if not activated within a short period they will be cancelled and cannot be reissued. As I will be on holiday and not working I am unable to check and remind you on this occasion. It is important to me that those families who require support receive it.

As we head into the last week of term at the busiest time of year for all parents, I wanted to share this:
Dear Special Needs Parent, I didn’t mean to interrupt your scrolling, but I wanted to tell you that you are doing a great job! You are strong. You are brave. You are valuable. You are needed. You are beautiful. You are not alone and never forget that. ~ Unknown
