Everything, to me anyway feels so much better with the lighter days and warmer weather. This week has been one of those weeks. EGG-cited to MOVE was up to the usual high standards we have come to expect, and students enjoy the activities and short break from daily school routines.
I normally call the parent/carer of new starters within a few weeks of the student starting at school. As you know, our intake is not fixed to September. This week I spoke with parents of 3 new starters and was so pleased to hear their positive experience and that of their children since transition from other schools. Sometimes this can be very challenging for both parents/carers and the child, so it was good to hear the glowing feedback which I have passed on to the respective teams.
On behalf of everyone at school I would like to thank all who supported school with donations and purchases for the annual Mother鈥檚 Day sale. They raised over 拢200 with costs removed. A fantastic result.
Thanks also to everyone supporting the Enterprise Easter fayre; open to Upper school as the funds generated will go towards the Prom to which they are invited. I don鈥檛 have details but am sure they will follow soon. The Prom is a wonderful event and has become part of the annual calendar.
As we approach the end of this half term here is a reminder of events:
Thursday 10th April 14-15.00: Easter Fayre. This is open to Upper School parents/carers and family only.
Friday 11th April: There will be some easter themed options on the menu.
We close at the end of the day Friday 11th April and reopen to staff and students on Monday 28th April.

Free School Meals.
Those who have applied for and are eligible for income related free school meals will receive a voucher from North Tyneside Council as part of the government HAF fund to support families with the cost of living. This is a contribution towards feeding your child during school holidays where they do not receive a free school meal.
Your vouchers will be active on Monday 14th April and I have been asked to emphasise that vouchers NOT activated during the holiday will be cancelled and will not be reissued. It is important to school that those eligible receive these. Please note that I do not work during school holidays and cannot answer queries. Equally, North Tyneside council will not be able to deal with enquiries. If, since you applied you have changed your email address please let me know before we break up so that I can update my records. The vouchers are sent to the email address you supplied on the application form. Those who cannot access Edenred will receive printed vouchers before we break up.
A copy of the letter from North Tyneside Council will be sent to those eligible.
