Success at the Sunderland Young Achievers鈥 Awards!

Northern Counties student Molly has been recognised at the annual Sunderland Young Achievers鈥 awards.

Molly was Highly Commended for the Achievement in Learning award for her outstanding achievements within education.

have been running for over 30 years and highlights the outstanding achievements of young people across the city. Previous winners have included Paralympic gold medallist Matt Wylie.

The Achievement in Learning Award honours those who have demonstrated outstanding dedication, a passion for knowledge, resilience in overcoming challenges, and a commitment to personal growth.

Molly is not only an inspiration to her peers, but to everyone within the Foundation and beyond. Her dedication and hard work have saw her achieve a Grade 8 in her Art GCSE, win local MP Catherine McKinnell鈥檚 annual Christmas card competition and perform with Northern Counties鈥 BSL choir for a host of opportunities.

Helen Blakelock, Molly鈥檚 teacher who nominated her for the award said:

鈥淲e are so proud of Molly and all that she has achieved, and the young lady that she has become.

鈥淲hen Molly first joined Northern Counties, she had limited sign language and communication, and is now the most confident young lady who throws herself into learning new things. We couldn鈥檛 be prouder鈥.

With Molly now in her final year of school, we can鈥檛 wait to see what she continues to achieve in the future.
